ACTIVATE by Mastering Strategy

Two Facilitated Days, Over Two Weeks, to Get Execution Back on Track

Your team has real strategic direction – the problem is execution, not direction. ACTIVATE is a fast, focused reset applied to your team’s actual strategic agenda, built to end in decisions, not discussion.

The Challenge

You're Not Short on Ideas. You're Short on a Way to Choose the Best – and Act on Them, Together.

You’ve had the offsite. You’ve approved the plan. And yet, months later, priorities have multiplied, the same debates keep resurfacing, and progress ends up depending on individual effort instead of a shared way of working.

That’s not a planning problem. It’s the specific challenge ACTIVATE is built to address.

WHAT THIS USUALLY LOOKS LIKE

Is ACTIVATE Right for Your Team?

GOOD FIT IF YOUR TEAM

For teams that haven’t yet aligned on basic direction, or that want to build deeper, sustained capability in how they think, decide, and execute together over time, TRANSFORM might be a more suitable program.

How ACTIVATE Works

ACTIVATE is a facilitated experience for your intact leadership team – not a seminar, not a retreat, not a plan-writing exercise. It’s built entirely around your team’s real strategic picture, not a hypothetical case study, and every session is designed to end in a decision. It’s built around two facilitated days (or four virtual half-days), with the full program delivered over about two weeks.

Day One – See & Decide

Morning – Foundation & Shared Lens. Reframe strategy as a leadership discipline, walk the team through a shared framework, and stop sales, finance, and operations from reading the same environment in three different ways.

Midday – Reality Check. A rapid diagnosis of culture, structure, governance, and incentives – naming the two or three things most likely to block execution.

Afternoon – Narrow the Field. Confirm three to five strategic priorities and have the explicit conversation aboutwhat the team will stop or defer.

Day Two – Choose & Mobilize

Morning – Make It Executable. Build a single-page strategy map, assign decision rights on the highest-priority initiatives, and define a short list of KPIs.

Midday – Mobilize. Design how what’s on the strategy map cascades through the organization and align on the
two or three sentences every leader will use consistently.

Afternoon – Make It Stick. Design the leadership operating rhythm, commit to a specific review schedule, and set
the next review date before the session ends.

Following the Program, Your Team Will Be Able To

A Different Outcome for Everyone

For the CEO or senior sponsor: You stop being the only one holding strategy together. Two days gives your leadership team a shared set of priorities they carry forward on their own, and a documented rhythm the whole team commits to.

For the leadership team as a whole: You stop relitigating the same decisions. The friction that shows up as circular meetings, competing priorities, and quiet disagreement gets named and worked through directly, with a facilitator in the room, instead of lingering unresolved after the meeting ends.
For each individual leader: You leave knowing exactly what you own, what you're accountable for, and how your function's priorities connect to the enterprise's – no more guessing whether your read on the strategy matches everyone else's.
For the organization: The initiative list matches what your team can actually staff and fund. Every leader delivers the same message, so nobody hears a different version depending on whom they ask. Reviews happen on a set rhythm, catching problems while they're still small.

What You Walk Away With

Best for: teams that have experienced a real execution challenge and want a fast, credible reset – not a long capability-building commitment.

Not Sure ACTIVATE Is the Right Starting Point?

ACTIVATE is one of four related programs, each built for a different situation:

CLARIFY – for a leadership team facing a pressing issue that needs resolution, now

NAVIGATE – for a leadership team facing immediate uncertainty and decisions that cannot wait

TRANSFORM – for a team facing recurring strategic challenges that needs a stronger way of thinking, deciding and acting together

If you’re not sure which fits, a short conversation is the fastest way to find out.
